Six Bricks can both energise and transform the teaching of mathematics in infant classes across the first two years. In Ireland, this is Junior Infants (Ages 4.5 years to 5.5 years) and Senior Infants (Ages 5.5 years to 6.5 years).
The mathematics kit contains both manuals with the 64 ready-to-go lesson plans and supporting task sheets, the 24 brick sets and 12 large pair-work number lines, the beautiful Grobby storybook, the large poster for the classroom wall to denote that you are a Six Bricks practitioner classroom, the 24 Six Bricks Answer Code Rockets, FREE access to the Six Bricks Interactive Whiteboard Software, and of course the GROBBY Six Bricks plush toy.
Let our wonderful Grobby Six Bricks help your students to excel, as they achieve curriculum mathematics standards with these 64 skill-building lessons and activities that are underpinned by a Six Bricks approach to teach mathematics effectively.
Teaching Mathematics with Six Bricks in Junior Infants and Teaching Mathematics with Six Bricks in Senior Infants are the first books in this series. Together, the books in the kit contain a suite of 64 easy step-by-step lessons and 64 reproducible task sheets. The lessons build out number skills and concepts from 1 to 6, along with teaching aspects of shape, measurement and data handling, all using a hands-on, Six Bricks approach that is playful, fun, active, interactive and highly effective.
Teaching mathematics well to all students requires a high level of understanding of pedagogy in mathematics and of mathematics itself. The 64 step-by-step lessons and 64 reproducible task sheets aim to support and enhance all teachers’ capacity to decide how best to help all of their students achieve the mathematics curriculum learning outcomes through a robust, playful, hands-on, manipulatives-driven approach to teaching mathematics, using sets of Six Bricks.
The Six Bricks Infant Mathematics Kit approach is informed by the work of Jean Piaget, Jerome Bruner, Maria Montessori and Howard Gardner.
